Credit brokers and your details
If you apply to a FISA company or a credit brokers, then the information given below will describe how your data is processed. If your data is to be processed differently then the trader should tell you.
The information you have provided will: -
1. Process the application you have made.
2. Cause a search to be made at a credit reference agency. This search will link any other searches made in connection with applications made by yourself or other members of your household. Your credit profile may adversely be affected, making it harder for you to obtain.
3. Your loan application will be assessed with reference to all linked records, meaning that the information held about you at a credit reference agency may already be linked to another person, i.e. your spouse, and for the purpose of your loan application you will be treated as financially liked.
4. If you have confirmed you are linked financially with another person, you are declaring that you are: -
a) Able to disclose information about that person
b) Authorising the broker and any lender involved in the application to search, link and record information about you or any one else referred to by you at a credit reference agency.
The information may also be used by the broker to: -
1. Make you aware of other products available.
2. Write to you in the future if they have products they feel will be of interest to you, although you can ask for your information not to be used to contact you about offers and products.
3. Pass your details on to another broker if they have products they think will be of interest to you.
4. Permit access by the FISA or other regulating bodies to your information, to check that the broker is using your information correctly and is complying with the regulatory requirements.
5. Pass your details onto another credit broker if they themselves cannot arrange finance for you.
6. Pass your details onto another lender/lenders whom they think will be willing to lend you money.
